Financial Plans ARE NOT FREE

  1. Flat Fee: Some CFPs charge a flat fee for creating a comprehensive financial plan. The average fee is between 1500 - 3000 for the initial plan, plus costs for updates

  2. Hourly Rate: Some CFPs charge an hourly rate for their services. Hourly rates can vary based on the CFP's experience and expertise, but they typically range from $150 to $400 per hour.

  3. Assets Under Management (AUM) Fee: Some CFPs who also provide investment management services may charge a percentage of the assets they manage for you. This fee structure typically ranges from 0.5% to 2% of your assets under management annually.

  4. Combination of Fees: Some CFPs may use a combination of fee structures, such as a flat fee for the initial financial plan and an ongoing AUM fee for investment management services.

Financial Planning is NOT a one time event

Financial plans should typically be reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure they remain relevant and effective in helping you achieve your financial goals. The frequency of updates can vary depending on your individual circumstances, but as a general guideline, it's recommended to review your financial plan at least annually. Additionally, you may need to update your financial plan whenever significant life events occur, such as:

  1. Change in Income or Expenses: If your income or expenses change significantly, it's essential to update your financial plan to reflect these changes accurately.

  2. Marriage, Divorce, or Family Additions: Major life events such as marriage, divorce, or the birth of a child can have significant implications for your financial situation and goals.

  3. Career Changes: If you change jobs, start a business, or experience a significant change in your career path, you'll need to reassess your financial plan to align with your new circumstances.

  4. Retirement Planning: As you approach retirement age, it's crucial to review and adjust your financial plan to ensure you're on track to meet your retirement goals.

  5. Investment Performance: Periodically review the performance of your investments and make adjustments to your financial plan as needed to stay on track with your investment objectives.

  6. Changes in Tax Laws or Regulations: Changes in tax laws or regulations can impact your financial planning strategies, so it's essential to stay informed and update your plan accordingly.

This means……

That not only will you be empowering yourself with knowledge and confidence, you will also be saving boatloads of money over your lifetime in investments fees (you wont need a full service planner), hourly rates, flat fees, or any combination.

YOU deserve this :)
